It is nights like this that you know who your real genuine friends are, I won't list names because I would miss someone and I would n't want to do that but those who were there know who they are and should know there is a special place for... you in my heart. The past several months have been quite stessful for me getting this band on track and with some personel changes and of course Kim's hospitalization but last night made it all worth while. Thank you all again. To my good friend Lee Bell, awesome job last night and looking forward to hearing the final recording. To Wendy and the entire staff at Orlondo's you guys are he best. @ The Greenwood and finally Ben Williams(drums) @ The Hull Ave.
In talking to Kim yesterday the goal is to have him back on stage by May 1st and I'm hopefull the band will make a decision in the next week on who will be our new drummer.
Friday 2/10
This band was assembled almost a year ago with relatively unknown players in hopes of making a BIG splash in the Des Moines LIVE music scene. Well we haven’t made that BIG splash but in the past twelve months we have worked very hard and have been making small splashes every time we do a show. It is encouraging to see some of the same faces at our shows which is a great indicator that people are enjoying what we’re doing. Kim’s accident will not slow us down and if Kim we’re typing this about someone else in the band who was going to be off for awhile he would be telling you the exact same thing. THE SHOW MUST GO ON! Kim would also tell you that now is not a time to suspend show’s with the momentum this band is building. By suspending shows it would undue all the hard work each and every member of this band has put into it. Kim will be back with us and it is our hopes that will be soon but until then I have secured the services of an old friend of mine who has graciously committed to sitting in for Kim while he’s off. Beginning at our Febuary 25th show at The Underground “Taz” Grant will join The Brian Holtz Band in Kim’s absence. Thanks to each and everyone of you for the support you’ve given this band and your prayers and well wishes for a speedy recovery for our friend Kim Mason. Hope to see you on the 25th at The Underground.

Tuesday 2/7 Yesterday Kim was involved in a very serious traffic accident and is recovering from several fractures in his left leg and left arm. Please let him know that we're all thinking of him, send a card to: Kim Mason % Iowa Methodist Hospital 1200 Pleasant, Des Moines, Ia. 50309. For daily up-dates go to; The Brian Holtz Bands Facebook page.
What a great time the band had at The Mel Harper Fundraiser this past friday night. Playing on stage with Janey Hooper, Steve George and "Taz" was an incredible experience. Thank You Janey Hooper for the opportunity.
Looking forward to returning to Applebee's on Merle Hay for a New Years Eve show. Had a great time with the patrons and the Applebee's staff the last time I was there. They will have food and drink specials and I'll get the music going about 9.
The show the band just finished at The Kirkwood Hotel's Lounge was KILLER! I was so proud of the band and how they played I couldn't of asked for a better performance from them. As a matter of fact the band was playing so well and during a tune I was really getting into it that I pondered jumping off the stage at the end of a song but I was afraid I may have hurt myself jumping that 10 inches to the floor.
If you have an interest in booking the band please use the e mail form below to contact us or if you wish to send an e mail to someone in the band please leave your e mail below and indicate who it's for. Thank You, Brian Holtz
